Mid 19th Century, One of a Kind, Object of Virtu. Gorgeous Miniature Figure of a Lady, English, Russian?

This figure isn't the kind of object I specialise in - I am mostly a dealer in fine paintings - but it was too beautiful not buy!

It is a gorgeous miniature - 14 cm high - exquisitely hand carved in wood and (morse?) ivory. Dating to the mid 19th century, it is in perfect condition, which is near miraculous, given that the lady's bonnet is as fine and delicate as lace.

Although acquired in Paris, I am fairly certain that the figure is not French in origin. It might be Northern European, or Russian - or could it be English?

It seems to be one of a kind and would make a wonderful gift to someone with a collector's cabinet of unusual, beautiful objects.
