Description:
Here is a fine quality antique Regency folding mahogany inlaid duet music stand, in good condition.
The book rests fold out to support papers on either side. The stand is designed to allow two musicians to play a duet. The fold-out book rests are held in place by a support that swings on the central column. The panels fold flat for storage and transportation. Below, the stand features a turned column support, which exhibits satinwood string inlay and includes a notched brass height adjustment mechanism. The height can be adjusted by holding down a lever on the side of the column; releasing the lever will cause the mechanism to lock again, once it has been lined up on another notch. The stand rests on four splayed legs, which feature further string inlay.

Condition Report:
The stand is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The book rests are completely original, retaining all their brass book holders, and there are no missing struts. The stand boasts the original working brass height adjustment mechanism. The stand has a lovely warm colour and patination. This music stand is well constructed, solid in joint, sits firm on the ground and is ready to use.
