A very interesting and decorative railway sign. The sign shows the badge of the Great Eastern Railway, it is in printed paper applied to a board. The sign must have been subject to a lot of heat and smoke to be as tar stained as it is, which gives it a wonderful patina, and therefore may have been a carriage door etc. The sign has had a bit of loss and repair but is in good condition. The board has been mounted in a Victorian period rosewood frame. The whole is in good condition and ready to hang. This is an unsual decorative item and has railway interest.
