Unusual Antique English Spherical String Box / Dispenser with Cutter

Description

A handsome Victorian string box or dispenser standing on three complimentary ball feet and dating to around 1880, Victorian in period.

The lid is removed and replaced by turning the top, there is a finely engineered threaded mechanism. The top is beautifully decorated with pierced or reticulated work; the box is complete with the cutter to the top which would have been used to cut off the correct length of string or twine.

Most unusual and in excellent condition; a few minor dents / dints; insignificant but mentioned purely for accuracy. 3 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" wide (foot to foot).
