A fine late Regency needle work depicting the flight into Egypt by Mary and Joseph and the infant Jesus. The needlework is done in wool and silk on a painted silk base, the whole has a huge naive charm, in particular the donkey. The colours are bright and fresh and the whole is in good condition, just a slight tear to the silk in the sky. The picture is mounted in the original gilt frame.
