A Fun Japanese Ivory Okimono of a Boy with His Toys

Description

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this charming little Meiji Period Ivory Okimono depicting a young boy with his toys , the boy seated upon a rattan mat has a huge smile on his face as he lifts the lid of a toy box to reveal a couple of spinning tops and a further toy, to his side he already has a basket full of masks , musical instruments and a fan , what joy !! the artist has captured the scene in fine detail and has signed the group to the underside of the rattan basket, a simply charming and great fun Okimono to add to your collection.
