A Rare life Size (around 5 ft) 19th century Chinese carved wood acupuncture statue,c1890.It is nicely composed and carved and has great wear to the paint making it highly decorative.The model is marked with the various acupuncture points and would no doubt have been an instructional piece for students. Overall condition is good in line with age and use but there are a couple of small loses, for instance to the tip of a finger and the top of the head/raised hair section is split and looks to have been repaired. The paint is also quite flaky and there are losses in some areas. However this is all part of its character and to be expected given its age.
