Stunning ,large and rare antique 19th century carved wood Blackamoor statue, c 1840. Although unsigned this is a fine quality piece , the statue stands on a boat shaped base and turned pedestal. It has marvellous carving and decoration and the gilt work/painting is still vibrant. It may be Venetian as the figure appears to stand on a gondola type boat? The colour/patina is lovely with just the right degree of age related wear. Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear. There may have been a small repair to the feather/hat but this is very minor. Size: 89 cm tall x 30 cm wide . I will happily ship worldwide, but please ask for a bespoke quote for your Country.
