Splendid Large Rampant Lion Terracotta 19th Century

Description

This is a splendid terracotta lion of some scale which dates from around 1850. The lion, possibly French, is in rampant pose with his front paws, big claws drawn, upon a shield. He is very handsome indeed with the most fantastic mane. The lion is a grand size, measuring 98 cms high, 43 cms wide and 51 cms deep and would add great character to any garden. He is in remarkably good condition with just one or two minor nibbles.

You are most welcome to collect or use any courier for delivery. Our local courier can deliver to most UK destinations for £70 plus vat. Some areas and extremities may vary, please email or text your postcode for an accurate quote.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
