Tibetan Vintage Travelling Shrine

1900 - 1920
Description

This is an interesting portable travelling shrine dating from the early 20th century. The metal canister is attractively detailed and houses a cast Buddha behind a glass panel. Inside the canister also is a large quantity of printed flags, (over 20) which are displayed here in the photographs. The shrine is set in an embroidered bag that is beautifully sewn in metal threads, with carrying handle and decorative metal buttons. The shrine measures 18 cms in diameter by 7 cms high.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.

You are most welcome to visit the shop but please always check to confirm we are open before travelling.
