Description

This a superb pair of Meiji period shibayama plaques in outstanding pristine condition. The red hand painted lacquer frames and lacquered background to the scenes are in glowing crisp condition. The birds are superbly detailed in differing shades of mother of pearl, bone and abalone shell carved precisely and most attractively. The plaques are in excellent condition throughout and measure 55 cms by 42 cms.
