For sale is a Japanese ivory Okimono, this beautifully carved Okimono is dated c1890 in the Meiji period. The carving depicts a Buddha standing holding a child on his shoulders. The Okimono is in very good condition for its age, it has a lovely aesthetically appealing patina which is consistent of its age. This is a large substantial piece of ivory, the Okimono is 28.5cm in height and 6cm at its base. This Okimono is signed on the base in Japanese.
