A large and fine carved oak figure of a lady. The lady is carved from a single piece of oak and has a Pre-Raphaelite air about her. The figure stands on plinth base with long flowing skirts of a rural fashion. The lady his flowers in her hair and has the feel of representing spring or summer. The arms and held aloft and would have been holding something which has sadly been lost. The figure is in good condition, with just an old repair to a finger, the patina is light and bright. The whole is a beautiful and decorative piece of art and an unusual work of secular carving. C.1890.
