As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this super quality one piece carved ivory Okimono from the Meiji period , the artist has captured the magnificent beast in great detail his trunk raised and curled at the tip , his mouth open and ears back in what looks to be a jovial expression as he strides forward with a purpose, the well aged hide carved in fine detail throughout , a fantastic chunky little addition to your Okimono or Elephant collection .

The condition is lovely and original, great colour, with just a very fine age related hairline through his back.
