Description

An excellent example of an American 1860 pattern light cavalry sabre, dating from the American Civil War. This stunning sword has an 89.5cm curved, fullered blade. The hilt has a brass three-bar guard and the original wire-bound leather grip. This sword is in excellent condition for its age. There is some very light pitting to the steel surfaces throughout, giving it a nice antique patina. The polished brass guard is also a beautiful feature. The brass guard has some minor nicks and dents, which strongly suggests the sword has seen combat use. An impressive sword in wonderful original condition.
