A Splendid French Gold Mounted Tortoiseshell Purse.

A superb French tortoiseshell purse with gold mounts, dating from the 19th Century. The body of this exquisite item is mounted on a steel frame, with a shaped tortoiseshell front and back. To the front are gold mounts in Greek key pattern and a vacant cartouche. The press-release opens the purse to reveal fabric lined compartments. A lovely collector's item, still usable today.

Condition :- Excellent, with no breaks or losses. The interior and steel frame are marked from age and use but not damaged.
