Jaques "Staunton" Chess Set in Mint Condition

1900 - 1920
Description

JAQUES of LONDON: a very good quality late Victorian solid ebony and boxwood "Staunton" CHESS SET by this eminent firm of games and croquet manufacturers.

Of large size, each piece is weighted and in mint condition. There are no cracks, chips or other damage ~ indeed the set looks as though it has never been used. Complete with its original box (shrinkage crack to the lid) with green label inside the lid. The King: 4ins (10cms) tall; the box: 8ins x 6ins deep x 4ins tall (20 x 15 x 10cms). Thoroughly recommended.
