Description

Very large antique 19th century carved wood and painted reclining Buddha, probably Thai or Burmese,c1880. It is nicely carved and composed and the paintwork has worn nicely with traces of the original gilt showing through. Overall condition is good but there is a long age related split/crack to the body and possible repair where the body meets the arm, but very much as you would expect from an old carving.
