Description

An extremely fine example of a large 19th century four-fold screen. It is currently upholstered in what may well be its original faux-tapestry material with a plain fabric to the reverse. The frame itself is the original ebonised finish accented with beautifully crafted water gilded beads surrounding every panel. It has an ingenious double-knuckle hinge system allowing it to be folded flat for easy storage. This stunning large-scale screen can act as a room divider, a draught screen, or as a privacy screen. It is English dating from c.1870s.
