A interesting carved pine wall sconce or bracket set as a patridge or pheasant on rocky base before foliage. The quality of the carving is very fine particularly on the plumage and head of the bird. The sconce has originally been painted and gilded and at some point was sadly stripped, but quite some time ago as the wood has developed a patina. The carving is in very good condition with a couple of old repairs and some slight loss to the birds beak. This is a highly decorative and stunning interiors piece.
