Gillows of Lancaster Georgian Mahogany Wash Stand

Description

Fine quality GILLOWS of LANCASTER early 19th century Georgian mahogany wash stand. Made from the very best of mahogany with typical Gillows design turned and reeded legs with quality brass castors.

The original high gallery is mitre dovetailed at the corners. The top has a nice shape moulding around the edge and there is a simple bead moulding running around the bottom of the top section. Dummy drawer with cock beaded edge.

Heavy due to the quality of the timbers used.

Came originally from FASQUE CASTLE in Aberdeenshire where Gillows where known to have furnished several rooms in the early 19th century when the castle was re-built.
