Fabulous Signed Tokyo Artist Ivory Okimono of an Egg Tester

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer another stunning quality ivory okimono from a single owner private collection that we recently acquired , once again carrying the distinctive numbered label , this high quality one piece okimono is carved by an artist known as Kiyoharu , he cleverly captures an image of an old man clutching a basket of eggs in one hand while studying the eggs with his trusted eye , as if looking through an eye glass the character has one eye closed and holds the egg up to the light to establish wether it carries a chick or wether it can actually be eaten , the artist has carved the one piece ivory in incredible detail paying particular attention to the facial details as only great Tokyo school artists can ,if you want a top drawer okimono for your collection this is probably as good as this subject matter ever gets !!
