Pair of Plaster Busts of African Traders

A stunning pair of Art Nouveau period plaster busts. The bust are modelled as a couple, male and female, of African traders or merchants. The pair are typical of the sort of works created by the likes of Goldschneider or Royal Dux during the Art Nouveau period and must have been made in that vein although the pair are not marked. The paintwork is in very good condition and of a high standard. There have been some minor chips to the robes as one would expect with works in plaster, which have been professionally repaired. The pair are hugely decorative and in good condition. C.1900.
