Antique salt bag by the Afshar tribe.
Late 19th century.
This is a superb example of Afshar Soumak work with the Star and Lattice design. Note the original tassels with blue beads. The bag has a stripped plain weave back.
The salt bag is in excellent condition with very slight even wear.
The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display.
