Two Antique Go to Beds

Description

A really nice small lignum vitae Go to bed. A wax match was placed in the top which would give enough light to go to bed, it was also used for lighting wax seals for sealing letters It unscrews for storage of matches, and to the base worn striker paper.

It measures approx 6cm h x 2.8cm in diameter. c1830/40

A 19th century turned barrel shaped Go to Bed, the ridges for striking the matched, a match was placed in the lid. The top pulls off on this one. It measures approx 5.6cm h x 2.3cm to base.Price £68
