American Walnut Floor-standing Globe

1940 - 1960
Description

A large and impressive American walnut floor-standing GLOBE in very good condition.

Probably dating from the 1950's, this "Replogle Comprehensive Globe" was made in Chicago, Illinois, and amongst other things it lists: ocean currents; capital cities; depths of oceans; shipping routes etc., and it is supported on its solid walnut stand with three legs and tripartite platform base.

The globe itself is in particularly good condition, and measures about 16ins (40.5cms) diameter and about 50ins (127cms) circumference.
