Rare Inlaid "Longcase Clock" Watch Stand

Description

An unusual and very fine quality mahogany WATCH STAND beautifully made in the form of a Dutch long case clock.

Faithful in every detail, this stand features three brass finials; inner ormolu watch surround; 'bombe' shaped base and plinth with six brass feet. It is inlaid overall with flowers and leaves, and stands 17.5ins high (44.5cms) without the finials.

**The back of the hood has a door which opens to reveal an aperture for a pocket watch, thus converting it to a clock for all to see the time.
