French Late 19th Century Carved Walnut Panel

A French late 19th century finely carved large walnut door panel.

This panel consists of deep relief carving of fine quality with a carved moulding of scallop shell and scroll decoration with an inner moulded frame.

This frames the central area which is superbly carved with scrolling foliate designs with a coat of arms to the centre with cascading fruit to either side.

To the top the coat of arms depicts a hand holding a quill or pen and beneath the word 'HUMILITATE' - this is the motto to the coat of arms and translates to 'with humility'.

Below this is a carved mask and more scrolling foliate decoration with cascading fruits.

This panel is in excellent condition and would make a superbly decorative wall hanging.
