Plaster Torso Figure of the Trojan Priest Laocoon

1920 - 1940
Description

A good quality plaster torso figure of the Trojan priest Laocoon.

This figure is taken from the famous Italian statue 'Laocoon & His Sons' dating from 100BC and excavated in Rome in 1506 and can be seen in The Vatican.

In the sculpture he is depicted being attacked by giant serpents with his sons by his side.

This piece is in very good condition for age.

Size:

Height: 35'' / 89cm

Width: 24'' / 61cm

Depth: 17'' / 43cm
