This is a superb quality antique small William IV carved rosewood Canterbury, circa 1850, in excellent original condition. The Canterbury boasts four stunning splayed and partitions with elegantly turned spindles and floral carved fretwork panels as dividers, which makes it ideal use for a modern day magazine or paper rack. Turned horizontal spindles connect each partition. The front section boasts a stunning open fretwork panel. The item boasts a rich burr mirror matched walnut veneer floor between the partitions. Below, there is a single working mahogany lined and hand-dovetailed drawer. The drawer features the original turned knobs. The Canterbury sits on turned and fluted legs and terminates on the original brass castor cups with ceramic mug castors.

The Canterbury features a gorgeous mellow burr walnut brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
