18th Cent Horizontal Bronze Sundial by T Blunt

Description

A fine quality bronze sundial by Thomas Blunt.

Thomas blunt was apprentice to Edward Nairne in 1760 and the two men were in partnership, trading as Nairne and Blunt from 1774 until 1793 when the partnership ended. Thomas Blunt worked at 22 Cornhill until he died in 1823.

This sundial is 8 inches in diameter and is very finely engraved. It has good dark brown/green patination and is in good condition.

A similar example was sold by Christies, London for £1800
