Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
From the cross stretcher come two small arms to hold the beater which is a solid brass rod with a suede top. In the centre top is a hook to hold the gong. The gong is circular and folded, which has been beaten with a central planished design and four small segments of Art Nouveau designs similar to that of Ritchie of Iona.
Size 53cm high x 39cm wide x 29.5cm deep.
