Jaques Backgammon, Chess & Draughts Travelling Games Pieces Circa 1880

Description

This interesting SET OF BOXWOOD & EBONY BACKGAMMON, CHESS & DRAUGHTS pieces, in their original gilded leather tube case, date from circa 1880.

I believe them to be from a JAQUES BCD TRAVEL SET.

As can be seen in the photographs, the pieces are plain on one side for Backgammon and Draughts and have small, applied plaster representatons of chess pieces on the other.

All of the pieces are there. One plaster 'castle' is missing (top right in picture).

Diameter of pieces: 1 inch (2.5 cm)
