Rare and Fine Quality Japanese Skeletal Ivory Okimono

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this extremly well carved one piece Japanese ivory okimono , the rare and desirable subject matter depicts two skeletons holding aloft a very large skull with further assistance from a giant toad,although not everyones chosen subject the detailing is amazing throughout and has been carefully carved from a single piece of ivory , the okimono is fresh from a private collection where as you can clearly see it has gathered decades of dust , quite appropriate really !

The condition is superb with no breaks, losses or repairs.
