Malachite border surrounding the Forum mosaic which depicts the Temple of Vespasian, Temple of Saturn and the Arch of Constantine , with the ruined columns of the Temple of Castor and Pollux ,and column of Phocas in the background. The 'fanned' edge and inner panel divided by the lines of the slate-base body . The numerous multi-coloured specimen examples of marbles and hardstones featuring amongst others, porphyry , 'rice' porphyry , siena ,rosso, and giallo marbles, and various onyx samples. In excellent original condition.
