Nice Quality Japanese Ivory Okimono Shell Fisherman

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality one piece Japanese ivory okimono of a shell fisherman , the fisherman stands with his rake in one hand and a basket containing his catch in the other, out of the basket hangs what looks like a hermit crab with other shellfish around his feet, the one piece fisherman is nicely detailed throughout and is pegged to a circular ivory base decorated to the underside.

The condition is superb throughout !
