A really charming Victorian Needlework depicting a Hummingbird. The work is interesting in that it has as well as the bird various small motifs reminiscent of a sampler. The needlework is done in wool and the colours are amazingly bright and clear. The work is mounted in a period Victorian faux walnut frame. The whole is in wonderful condition. C.1870.
