Rare Early 18th Century Coopered Ale Tankard

Description

RARE early 18th century iron banded, coopered ale tankard. I think the wood is stained pine. Nice tapered shape and a gorgeous original colour and patination. This is definitely early 18th century, it might even been 17th century.

Please note this is a proper early English piece and not one of these nasty eastern European things that are appearing all over the place.

The condition is all original but it does require filling with wet newspaper or tissue for a while as it is a bit loose.

SIZE; 5" diameter. 8 1/2" high
