A fine quality and rare mid-19th century IVORY CHESS SET known as the "King George" Chess Set.

Each piece is individually carved ivory, the natural side as King George and Queen Charlotte, together with 'European' soldiers, lined up against the red-stained side, carved as the Chinese Emperor, his Empress and various Oriental troops.

Delightfully carved and in superb condition ~ just the odd very small 'nick' here and there. Height of the King (overall) 5.25ins (13cms)
