A lovely Victorian sampler in silks on linen. the sampler has typical alphabet above ''God Save The Queen'' above verse and ''Honour thy father and mother''. The sampler is worked by Susannah Borrowman aged 12 and dated 1853. The sampler is full of motifs and pictures bust most unusual of all or two parrots with the titles: ''Pretty Polly''. The sampler is bright and clear but does have one or two holes and some foxing. The sampler is mounted in a period Victorian birds eye maple frame.
