A Sublime Quality Book Trough or Wall Shelf

Description

An absolutely stunning late Georgian/early Victorian book trough or wall shelf. It has the most sublimely well-figured timbers, an original untouched finish with a fabulous depth of colour, and a glowing patination. It has shaped end supports between which is a gallery upstand with a wavy edge top. This beautiful piece of English furniture can rest on a table or chest, or it can be wall mounted. It is dated to c.1825 – c.1850.
