Produced by Bartolomeo and Pietro Paoletti of Rome (signed lower inside rear board ) the gilt-foil edged intaglios showing some of the famous works of the renowned Danish neo-classical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen . Titled on edge of spine, with marble paper outer, blue-paper lined inners. .The binding in card and gilt-tooled leather. Complete set of 25 intaglios all in excellent original condition .Paoletti's studio in 'Piazza di Spagna, Roma', produced these volumes as fashionable souvenirs for wealthy 'Grand Tourists'. The "book" worn , and hinges loose. Good 'Country House' library /scholars reference. Provenance: Private collection of a Worcestershire gentleman.
