Mid 18th Century Unusual Georgian Round Gentleman's Mahogany Wash or Wig Stand.

Description

Mid 18th century Georgian period possibly Scottish round solid skillfully turned gentleman's mahogany wash stand or wig stand, the open turned round top frame supported by three hand forged cast iron struts, over a beautifully shaped serpentine shelf section with drawer. This top section is supported by three lovely turned columns, while the whole stands on three cabriole legs on tapered pad feet, with a shaped apron above, with shelf.

Originally used as a wash or wig stand, this can show off a lovely wash set, will make an excellent plant stand, or will beautifully present a bowl of your favorite decorative accessories.

Size-30.5 inches high by 10.5 inches diameter internal tapering top, 12.5 inches external round top, by 21.5 inches at widest point of base.

With original colour and patina, an unusual stand in very good condition.
