This is a stunning Japanese Shibayama lacquer plaque with finely carved bone/ivory detail and mother of pearl inlays. The typical Japanese scene depicts birds, crysanthemum type blooms and a delightful mother of pearl butterfly. The plaque has a beautiful red lacquered panel with hand painted detail of silhouetted mountains, birds and flora. This is in its original decorative aesthetic wooden frame and measures 70 cms by 46 cms.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
