Superb Large Japanese Carved Wood & Lacquer Screen

Description

s part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fabulous and large floor standing double sided Japanese screen, the black lacquer frame houses a superb quality double sided carved wooden panel , the reverse details a tiger prowling in a rocky outcrop, the front depicts an exceptionally well carved shi shi or foo dog with gold and silver lacquer eyes , he holds a tassled cord in his mouth which appears tethered to the young shi shi below , the double sided panel is sprinkled in gold splash lacquer and signed in a gilt and iron red seal .A
