A charming Match holder and striker, in mother of pearl and cold painted bronze. The striker is formed by a large natural piece of mother of pearl on which is a cold painted bronze eggshell to hold the matches and also a mouse. The whole has a lot of character and is very unusual. The piece is in untouched country house condition with some rubbing to the paintwork, and an old crack to the mother of pearl shell has been professional restored. C.1900.
