Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.

The last one I have (many years ago) was identical to this with the three hooks on the side, presumably for cocktail stirrers or lemonade spoons. My client at the time wanted to have a finished decorative piece and I had my (very skilled) silversmith make up a container and three spoons, I have done this again for the purchaser. These never came with a glass or container but this finishes the piece off if you wanted to display it. Equally, you can display it as originally meant, without the spoons and container.

The underside of the stand is marked for Hukin and Heath and the English Design Registration Number for the year 1887 is present in several places.
A magnificent find in excellent condition. The footprint of the base measures approximately 8" in diameter and stands 11" tall.
