Japanese Ivory and Shibayama Brush Pot Meiji Period

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Japanese shabayama decorated ivory pot , finely decorated to one side with an exotic bird in a prunus blossom with the reverse showing a bird in flight above a wisteria and other flora , the sides further decorated with butterflies and complete with its mother of pearl signature tablet , a great little item.

The condition is great with no losses to the shibayama and a lovely mellow honey colour to the ivory.
