Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Japanese bronze page turner or paper knife , the blade is made from a bronze alloy and decorated in fine detail with birds on a tree on one side and insects amidst flora to the reverse.

The handles of these knifes are usually the main feature and this one is no different , formed from two sections of bronze moulded in high relief with mixed metals applied including gold and silver , the front pictures a cockerel stood upon a barrel shaped stand while the reverse depicts two cockerels with their chicks picked out in gold and silver.

The condition of the blade is great as they are often bent and chewed , the handle is superb with only minor age related wear , a great knife for your collection .
