Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This unusual antique country "egg safe" dates from the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
This delightful little cupboard contains four sliding trays, each capable of holding fifteen eggs. It has the typical vented sides and front found in cupboards designed for food, allowing air to ventilate the produce inside. It would be a lovely addition to any vintage kitchen and allows one to store eggs safely outside of the fridge where they are meant to be!

The antique cabinet has a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
